Sugar Is Nature’s Sweetener


Sugar is a naturally occurring carbohydrate, derived from sugarcane. As nature’s own sweetener, sugar is a natural source of carbohydrates, which are an essential part of a balanced diet. While it is true that too much of anything can be bad for you, consuming sugar in moderation is a perfectly healthy component of your daily nutritional intake.

Sugar Does Not Cause Diabetes


Diabetes is a medical condition whereby the body’s ability to manage glucose levels in the blood is impaired.  Insulin is the body’s tool to regulate glucose levels in the blood.  People who suffer from diabetes produce either too much or too little insulin and therefore cannot effectively control their blood-glucose levels. So while sugar consumption needs to be closely monitored by sufferers of diabetes, it is not necessarily a cause of the illness.

Sugar Does Not Make Kids Hyperactive


It is a common belief that sugar is responsible for children becoming hyperactive after eating a large quantity of confectionery. While this is the case in instances of overindulgence, it is worth noting that sugar-containing confectionery consumed in moderation certainly will not make your children hyperactive.
